right to bloom

advancing sexual autonomy as a human right

Our Vision

Right To Bloom is committed to advancing sexual liberation and eliminating shame-based oppression globally. We believe that shame-based oppression surrounding sexuality, bodies, and intimate expression undermines human dignity and restricts fundamental freedoms. Through education, advocacy, community building, and storytelling, we work to create a world where individuals can explore and express their authentic selves without fear of judgment or persecution. Our work bridges personal empowerment with systemic change, recognizing that sexual liberation is intrinsically connected to broader human rights movements.

Programs

Research, Publishing and Training Institute

Right to Bloom's research and training arm produces original scholarship and practitioner education at the intersection of sexual shame and international human rights law. Through flagship publications, UN treaty body parallel reports, and peer-reviewed policy briefs, the Institute establishes shame-based oppression as a recognized and actionable human rights violation. Training programs equip lawyers, advocates, and educators with frameworks to identify and challenge shame as a tool of legal and social control, including dedicated parallel report training for law students and nonprofit organizations engaging with UN treaty bodies for the first time.

Global Advocacy & Legal Reform Network

Building coalitions with international human rights organizations to challenge shame-based laws and policies that criminalize or restrict sexual expression, LGBTQ+ identities, and reproductive autonomy. This includes parallel reporting to UN treaty bodies, policy analysis, and grassroots advocacy training for activists worldwide.

Shame-Free Sexual Education Initiatives

Comprehensive workshops and online resources that provide evidence-based, pleasure-positive sex education for adults. Programming will address topics often shrouded in stigma—masturbation, desire, consent, sexual diversity, and pleasure—through an intersectional human rights framework.
